KEY  CONCEPTS

PAR

Photosynthetically active radiation. It is the spectral component of light ranging from 400 nm to 700 nm. Photosynthetic organisms are able to use this component in the photosynthesis process.

PPF

Photosynthetic photon flux. It is the amount of PAR radiation emitted by a light source in a second, its unit of measurement is uMol / s

PPFD

Photosinthetic photon flux density. It is the amount of PAR that reaches a given area every second, its unit of measurement is uMol / s / m2

DLI

Daily light integral. It is the toatle quantity of PAR that reaches a given area during a period of 24h, its unit of measurement is Mol / m2 / day

Photosynthesis

It is a process used by plants to convert light into chemical energy.

Photomorphogeneys

It is light-mediated plant development, plant growth patterns respond to the light spectrum received.

Phototropism

La risposta della pianta a stimoli di luce come l'orientamento in funzione della direzione della luce.

Photoperiod

It is the number of hours of light during a period of 24 h.

Chl A e B

Chlorophyll A and B. They are pigments that absorb light and are fundamental for photosynthetic activity.
